Everything you think you know and understand in this life is actually an obstacle to your development and achieving true freedom. Proper spiritual development is a retraction - getting rid of everything we identify with as an individual.
Beliefs about a particular issue in life close us off from a broader understanding of it, which would solve most of our problems. It is important to realize that the ultimate truth in human world does not exist, and the answer to the same question is different depending on the level from which it comes. Our problem is that the logical level of the human intellect is not among the highest ones, and it is the main window through which we look at the world.
Let us consider, for example, a single situation in which a man kills another man. We usually assume that the evil aggressor attacked an innocent defenseless person. We condemn him and pity the victim and his family. From a higher level, it may be that the attacker has repressed aggression against a particular type of people coming from the trauma he experienced in his childhood. He is trying to discharge it which of course does not justify anything yet. Looking from an even further perspective, the attacker had an excess of aggression, and the attacked person was characterized by a lifelong victim mentality - passing each other on the street they were attracted to each other like two opposite poles and the tension between them was released as in a physical phenomenon. Going further, it is often the case that such events are planned and the participants are "hired" or "arranged" to participate in such an experience for various developmental purposes. From the spiritual side it's like watching a horror movie by one side and an action movie by the other - here the concept of good and evil is already fading. Going even higher, we are not separate from each other, so the inter-personal games are actually life being experienced by one common Source/God/Universe, meaning everything is as it was meant to be. From the highest perspective, this world is just a lights show, we indulge in the illusion that our time extended experience is real, and actually nothing really happens at all.
The existence of different truths depending on the adopted level of consciousness applies to every issue. Wars, religion, disease, politics, prosperity and poverty on Earth, private relationships with others, financial situation, etc. Our mind is full of filters and veils that process the picture of reality to a small section, and which we in our limitations consider as a whole. We all do it but no one wants to notice that it just doesn't work. So many books and philosophies have been published as the solution to all diseases, or the way to a happy life. As of the date of writing this text, none has changed the world to the point that it should be considered the right one. So many people persistently tell how others should live and what is good but none of their listeners would want to trade places with them even for a day. We absorb a huge amount of information daily, if not from the public media then from the independent media. We read about the taking away of humanity's freedom and health, and we think that makes us among the elite of conscious beings. Meanwhile, nothing has changed for years. There is no counteraction - there is only occupying our time and power to process someone else's point of view, against which we are helpless.
It is liberating to leave it all behind and open to a calm broader view. To say to ourselves "I don't know" and to be empty of many things. Then the channels clogged by the noise of the mind begin to be unobstracted again, and gradually we gain access to new dimensions of life that we only read about, and that exceed our imagination. Then comes the understanding that to acknowledge and to experience are two different worlds. We will no longer say "I know" when hearing trite spiritual truths like "We are all connected." We will already know that even if we have such an experience behind, we realize the infinity we face and that we can always go further. You can't fully flow with life and describe it with mental labels at the same time.
It is not necessary to immediately become an enlightened monk and experience mystical ecstasies. Just getting out of dividing the world into good and evil raises the inner quality of life to an indescribable extent. However let's be honest with ourselves and verify the place we are. If we are still entertained by the struggle between good and evil, let us deal with it with joy. But let us reckon with the fact that the final liberation of the planet from the oppression of tyrants and the ascension of humanity that we so strive for would be hard to stand because of the end of all battles.
Beliefs are constant, and the world is a flowing change. Religious, social or even scientific dogmas hinder development. The current physical laws that science officially considers valid are only approximations with practical applications on our human scale. Most of them cease to be correct in the face of the phenomena being discovered at the quantum level. Many discoveries are ignored for now because too many systems would have to be changed. Not to mention the sacred books of all religions, which have not been updated for thousands of years.
In spiritual worlds, that is, among beings with a much higher consciousness than humans, there is no thinking, no division between past and future, good and evil, no states of danger and competition. This is beyond the mind's grasp, but we can experience it when we take back its power over us. And such experiences change us forever. Infinity/God is not somewhere out there - it permeates our every cell. The way to get in touch with It is to clean the way of junk, and then It will find us Itself. We do too much, know too much and try too hard. All this, only to discover one day that we haven't had to do anything at all.
